  • The most perfect week ever

A review of Luosto Finnish Lapland Taster Week by Elizabeth Langwade

The most perfect week ever. All of the activities were great. We really enjoyed doing a taster trip and taking part in activities we might not have chosen ourselves.

  • A totally magical holiday

A totally magical holiday that created amazing lifetime memories. It was everything we dreamed of and more. Still on a high from it!! Great hotel, fab spa pool, loved the jets of water and the Jacuzzi with the twinkly lights on the ceiling. The activities slowly ramped up as the week went on. Very kind patient and understanding guides - Emy was a fab instructress and staff . A very knowledgeable

man, Pascale at the Amethyst mine who was very funny, we loved him. He was also very generous because someone found a very impressive amethyst and he let them keep it. We were all amazed, she did not have to buy it!The snow chapel outside the Hotel Luosto was a bonus and on Christmas Eve someone carved a beautiful angel outside!! Wow it was so beautiful! Ice pews, alter and frozen flowers on the altar in blocks of ice!! Our hotel room very nice downstairs, but the shelves by the bedside upstairs in the mezzanine in 303 are not finished off. They are bare untreated wood! Also if your children are over 5 foot 4 they will hit they head on the ceiling which is very low upstairs. Our 15 year old who is 6 foot tall kept hitting his head. However it was cosy, clean and the balcony was lovely and large and in the perfect place to see the northern lights which we did see on Christmas Eve.There was no electric kettle in the room, please advise visitors to take one. We came back from our rather heavy going night snow trek quite desperate for a hot drink and after 11pm there was nowhere to get one, as the bar was closed. When the disco down stairs is on it’s a little tricky to get to sleep in 303, but we were so exhausted we did not stay awake for too long!! The lunch time menu in the hotel bar was very good value for money, only 10 euros for a two course meal with drinks- Souvenir shops were very reasonably priced.Father Christmas came to visit us in the restaurant and he went round the chalets on his sleigh with presents for all children 12 and under. It was so very authentically done, not tacky at all. To be near all the delighted children over Christmas Eve and day was fab. There is plenty of time to do your own thing there as well as set activities. We went downhill skiing on Christmas Day and had no problem getting a lesson booked. Food was good quality however, we did get exactly the same meal two nights in a row which was a bit disappointing. Beware... a bottle of wine (house) in the restaurant in the hotel was £25 so future clients watch out!Evening entertainment was good. There was candle everywhere, which was lovely and it does not get light till 10.30, weird but interesting. All the trips especially the husky trip on Christmas Day was out of this world. Puppies and photo opportunities to die for!! Pizza restaurants very good, best pizzas I have ever had but not cheap about £14 for a Margaretta, but worth it.

  • Magical environment

A review of Luosto Finnish Log Cabin Taster Week by Jonathan Green
    02 February 2012

This was an extremely special holiday in a magical environment. The accommodation was outstanding. When we ate out, the food was much higher quality than we had anticipated. The activities were a wonderful balance of adrenaline and information delivered in an un-patronising fashion which made us feel we were genuinely learning something.

  • It was especially fantastic to spend so long at Santa's house

A review of A Magical Search for Father Christmas by Gillian Allan
    01 January 2012

Our family (2 adults plus 5 year old twins) went to Kuusamo between 18th and 22nd Dec 2011. We were all extremely excited to be going to Lapland to see Santa and the trip didn't let us down at all. From the moment we arrived to the minute we left, we were looked after fantastically well by brilliant guides (and elves). With (a) special mention to Hristo and Tanya the elf, both of whom had loads of

stories to share with both adults and kids alike and boundless energy and enthusiasm. All the equipment was great and we were all nice and warm and dry for the whole time (if anyone had any problems with the sizes during the trip they could easily exchange them without any fuss). All the excursions were brilliant and have given us so many memories. It was especially fantastic to spend so long at Santa's house (~5 hours) in a small group doing various different things, this made it even more magical for the kids and it didn't feel at all commercial or pressured or rushed. We thought that the length of the trip was perfect as well, so we had activities everyday but enough time to just relax so it wasn't too tiring for youngsters. We had a brilliant time and would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone and will likely be looking to book other trips with Activities Abroad in the future since this one was so good.

  • Great holiday

A review of Spain - Pyrenean Family Adventure by Paul Weinmann

I was travelling alone with my son and I liked the fact there were other single parent families in the group. Meeting other families who were really friendly was a good dimension to the holiday.

What a brilliant week for both adults and children. Frank and Gabby were exceptional Reps - we have never had such enthusiastic, helpful and attentive people in resort, they are both a credit to themselves and Activities Abroad! Hotel pool could be a little warmer and ear plugs provided for the donkey, dogs and bells, evening renditions! The standard of equipment, instructors and all the 3rd party

A fantastic holiday, with the right mix of activity to rest time. We enjoyed the long leisurely lunches sat in the shade of trees whilst the kids tried their skill at archery and blow pipe. The local guides were excellent and ensured everyone had a good time.

  • The location is perfect

A review of Malta - Gozo Island Adventure by Janet Churchill
    15 August 2011

Given that this is a new addition to your holidays, I'm sure it will soon become a favourite. The location is perfect. There is a great range of local eating/drinking places within easy walking distance, and it’s safe enough for the teens to be able to go out and eat on their own (which they did). The local sites are also well worth visiting - Windmill, Ggantija Temples, Church and Grotto. The

mix of ages on this Teen holiday was absolutely right. We were also so lucky to have a group of 22 people who all got on so well together. It made such a difference and, along with the weather, isn't something that you can do much about!

  • Gozo is a lovely destination

A review of Malta - Gozo Island Adventure by Mairi Adam
    09 August 2011

This is our second holiday with you and you have more than lived up to the high standard of our first trip. Gozo is a lovely destination and the team there are superb. We were very pleased with your advice to stay in Gozo for our second week, mostly we just lazed around the pool, but also saw a little more of the island. We had thought that we would have a day on Malta, but decided that we were
