An underwater world awaits
The chance to snorkel is the chance to discover a whole new part of the world as you gaze upon sea life, gorgeous underwater scenery and fascinating shipwrecks across some of our most popular European and long haul destinations.
Snorkelling is the ideal activity for those families who perhaps aren’t quite ready to try diving but want to see what dwells under the water. Suitable for complete beginners, it can also be a leisurely experience and one that we incorporate often as an introductory activity or as part of our lazy boat days, to allow families to explore together.
Scuba diving is hugely popular throughout the world as a leisure activity for all ages. Should you wish to give it a go it gives you the freedom to explore the secrets of our oceans and for many is an activity that once tried will remain an intrinsic part of your life. For families it is a unique shared experience and something you can learn together, overcoming any trepidation you may have as a team.
Until you have tried this activity you cannot begin to visualise the opportunities it opens up in discovering a world which ultimately covers 70% of our planet.
About Snorkelling & Scuba DivingFeatured Holidays
Where can I enjoy snorkelling and scuba diving?
For snorkelling, one of the highlights is definitely Turkey. Here on the lazy boat day you will get a great taste of the beautiful waters surrounding turkey and look out for ship wrecks and shoals of fish.
When it comes to our long haul trips the snorkelling doesn’t get much better than the Galapagos where you can look upon brightly coloured crabs and turtles.
Read moreWith Gozo we feature one of the world’s truly excellent diving locations. Within the European sphere there is arguably no better place to learn or practise your diving skills and our team on Gozo include some of the most qualified and experienced divers in the whole world. It’s here that your family can have a go at ‘Mini B’ Diving. Rather than a full tank you have what looks like a rucksack which contains your air bottle. Smaller and, therefore, lighter it allows you to accustom yourself to the SCUBA experience in a very simple and straightforward manner. The other bonus is that if you are extending your time in somewhere like Gozo to take a full diving course the Mini B experience is recognised by PADI as counting towards this qualification.
Further afield you can experience the beautiful coral and aquatic life of Borneo, where you may even encounter sea turtles. If that does not capture your imagination or make you want to try SCUBA Diving then it is difficult to wonder what else would! If you are an experienced diver, bring your log book and plan some dives for your free day. If you have never dived before then there is the opportunity for Discover Dives, where, after a full and extensive dive briefing, you are given one on one tuition and guidance and can be taken to a depth of 6m allowing you for the first time to discover the rich beauty of the underwater world of this remarkable part of the world. We also offer a holiday which is dedicated to your family achieving their PADI diving certificates together.
Things you need to know
Naturally for these activities you need to be comfortable with being underwater so snorkelling is always an excellent way to start, allowing you a gentle introduction to the sea and it is ideal for beginners or families with younger or less confident children.
Scuba Diving as a leisure activity operates to the highest levels of Health and Safety mainly due to the strict codes and regulations set down by organisations such as PADI (Professional Association of Scuba Divers).
They have designed a wide range of training courses, standards and certification universally acknowledged to ensure that you can be assured you are in excellent hands when you know that your instructor is certified by them.
