Perfect holiday for families
A review of Luosto Finnish Lapland Taster Week by Christine ValvatnePerfect holiday for families as all activities were just long enough to get a taster, but within an 8 year old’s attention span. We were very impressed by being met by the representatives upon arrival. They were both very friendly and knowledgeable, and made us feel extra welcome. The amethyst mine was such a winner, we had to go back - and become members.

Beautiful location
A review of Slovenia - Europe's Secret Adventure Playground by Maria BannonBeautiful location and fantastic guides. In fact everyone we met was welcoming friendly and helpful - from the charming man who drove us from the airport to our rep Tomas, the brilliant, patient and professional guides who challenged us but made us feel safe at all times. Also the delightful hotel staff.Hard to choose (a favourite activity) as we enjoyed everything. Rafting and canyoning were…

Very well organised from the moment we arrived
A review of Spain - Pyrenean Family Adventure by Paul MilesVery well organised from the moment we arrived at Barcelona airport. Met by smiling friendly guide who introduced himself (Mattius) and directed us to the waiting group. Throughout the week he was attentive, always checking we were happy and nothing was too much trouble for him. The activity guides at Roc Roi were also great. Very professional, friendly and experienced and they made us feel…

Very enjoyable experience. Our guide Martin did everything possible to satisfy everyone's need. The location was great. Rafting: the instructor knew exactly how far to push the activity to make it fun and yet safe.

This has been our best family holiday, no question
A review of Malta - Gozo Island Adventure by Jessica WhiteThis has been our best family holiday, no question. We had such fun, faced stiff challenges, relaxed and completely fell in love with Gozo. The activity staff were terrific - Mark, Sebastian, Steve and Xavier all worked really hard to show us the very best of the island. We felt completely privileged to see the island this way - not the mass produced way!

All in all a great week
A review of Slovenia - Europe's Secret Adventure Playground by Kathryn MaynardThe Trip to Bovec in Slovenia was one of the best holidays we have been on. Searching for activities online we came across Activities abroad and the suggested location of Slovenia (which to be honest we didn't know much about). What a beautiful country, with just stunning scenery up in the mountains. Definitely a well-kept secret of a country! The itinerary arranged by Activities abroad, was great,…
Read more challenging in some parts, but also flexible to fit around our needs. The local partners and guides they work with were first class, and made the experience even better. For you thrill seekers out there, Hydro-speeding and Canyoning are a must, but keep your hands covered as the Soca is cold, even though the surround temperatures were around 34 degrees! The accomodation was new, nice and clean, plus the staff were friendly. All in all a great week.

We can't thank Activities Abroad enough for the most memorable trip ever
A review of Harriniva - Activity Pick and Mix by Helen TinnionMy husband and I booked our trip to Finland through Activities Abroad who were fantastic!!!! We weren't sure which resort to choose but Activities Abroad helped to choose a resort and hotel that would suit our personal preferences and the type of holiday we wanted. We've been on winter holidays before i.e. skiing, but I would say going to a resort just off the Arctic Circle is quite different. AA…
Read more advised us on the type of clothing we would need for our choice of activities, which is all available to hire at the resort as part of the package, so no need to go and buy expensive equipment. We weren't sure what activities or type of package to book, again AA were right on the money with helping us choose. We decided to book a 'tailor made' package or as the resort called it an 'independent' package. This really suited the both of us, as we wanted to have great experiences, but also wanted to relax and take in the beautiful scenery and enjoy the hotel's facilities. We arrived Sunday evening and stayed at the Harrinniva Centre, which was just perfect. It's warm and cosy and the staff are very welcoming and very on the ball. It's quite a large hotel, but didn't feel like it it was. (It was) a bit like a big 'Three Bears Cottage', everything made of wood right down to the light fittings. The food was excellent, very homely and very tasty. There's a great restaurant for breakfast and evening dinner (included in the package), the restaurant is also open for tasty bar lunches during the day. It has a great little pub to enjoy a few evening drinks. Our double room was very spacious with its own sauna and outdoor terrace, where we enjoyed sipping brandy and taking in the view. The activities we were recommended by AA were:Snow Shoe Walking; a great way to explore and see the scenery on our first day.Evening Snowmobile drive to see the Northern Lights; sadly we didn't get to see the Northern Lights but the ride through the snow at night was just awesome!!Ice fishing; great fun, our guide Thomas was a real character and very helpful throughout our whole trip (don't forget your hip flask).Husky driving; the most amazing thing I've ever done in my life!!! Our last night was spent in the ICEHOTEL; all I can say about this is Wow Wow Wow totally indescribable. We can't thank Activities Abroad enough for the most memorable trip ever, from start to finish they took care of every detail!! The other thing I must point out about this wonderful company is that they visit the resorts and hotels that they are selling and therefore have thorough knowledge and know exactly what they are taking about. They will go above and beyond to provide the best experience ever. Finland is so beautiful, fresh and clean we will certainly be going back hopefully very soon. Thanks again Activities Abroad :)

We will be back next year
A review of Luosto - Snow and Ski Active Pick and Mix by Fraser SkirrowWe had an excellent time on this trip, focused on skiing and snow shoeing in search of the Northern Lights. We had a little cross country ski experience but we booked two instruction sessions - one on the basics and then another one on more advanced ski skating. Once you have got over the local children passing you at speed while you struggle to get going, a few hours gets you into the swing and…
Read more onto the miles of beautiful trail around the town. Along the way there are huts with firewood so you can light a cooking fire and make lunch before heading out again. After all day outside - in March it was -4 degrees, clear skies and over 1m of snow - it was swimming and sauna to relax. We will be back next year

I thought seeing how the Sami live was very inciteful and a valuable aspect to the holiday. I liked the fact that the guides were so well informed on their surroundings and one in particular did everything he could to make it a great experience. Nothing was too much trouble for him. My Mum doens't stop singing his praises! (For the avoidance of doubt, his name is Matti Salmi, he really should be…
