This was a really good holiday. Having the additional first week at the hotel helped us to acclimatise and relax prior to the activities in the second week. The Cornucopia was great and the farmhouse was ideal for us. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The activities were at the right level and were well organised and well run and Cornil was an excellent rep, ensuring that everyone's needs…

We had a fabulous holiday. RocRoi are a really smooth run activities provider and we had such fun on the river, highlight was kayaking down white water mid lighting storm, very spectacular. Hiking was beautiful and picnic delicious. Mountain biking scenery was breath-taking. We met some lovely people and the kids all got on brilliantly, becoming rather pack-like ....almost feral. Mattias and…
Read more Thomas our reps were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Thomas on the other hand was a real pro. We all felt totally confident with him at the helm. We will definitely be back for one more Activities Abroad holiday at least before Madgy refuses to come on holiday with her mother at all. Thanks very much for another great holiday.

The activities were exciting and thrilling
A review of Spain - Pyrenean Family Adventure by Simon WilkinsThis was our second visit to Sort on the Catalan Pyrenees activity holiday. Having thoroughly enjoyed the holiday last year we returned with another family this August, and weren't disappointed. Sort is a lovely place to stay - it is a fairly quiet, small town right next to the river Noguera Pallaresa, where all the water-based activities take place. The Hotel Pey is family-run hotel and is a great…
Read more place to stay. The staff are extremely friendly and the hotel is kept spotlessly clean. It has a big pool and loads of room to relax around it and is located right in the centre of the town, near Sort's restaurants and shops. We were in a group of approximately 30 people (a good mix of adults, teenagers and children). Our holiday representative, Isidro (a qualified mountain guide), looked after the group in a very professional, friendly and able manner. He made sure everybody knew what they'd need for the next day's activity and was superb at handling the logistics of managing a large group of people. In addition to the activities, he was on hand to advise on local restaurants and to answer a variety of other questions. Isidro had an in-depth knowledge of the area (he grew up in the region) and was enthusiastic about the activities and had a real pride in the area.Although our family were only taking part in three of the activities on this occasion, we thoroughly enjoyed those that we did. We spent a fantastic day white water rafting (which was both exciting and had stunning and interesting scenery to boot). Our instructor was both friendly and extremely skilled and his obvious enthusiasm for the activity and pride in the area made the day even more special. Likewise, the canyoning instructors looked after us extremely well and, while ensuring our safety was paramount, had a good sense of humour and were enthusiastic about their speciality. The trek in the Aiguestortes National Park on the first day introduced us to the absolutely jaw-dropping scenery of the high Pyrenees, and was a great ice-breaker for the group.Food-wise, there was a good variety of restaurants to choose from, including a pizzeria, a lovely tapas bar (called Cafe Pessett - very interesting and delicious food) and a restaurant serving hearty Catalan mountain fare. The holiday rep can advise on the different optionsWhen no activities were taking place there are plenty of other things to do - I walked up to a village called Pujalt, about an hour or so up a steep path, where there are fantastic views down to Sort and up towards the high Pyrenees, with plenty of flowers and butterflies to see along the way. My girlfriend rented a bike and cycled on some of the quiet roads around Sort. Other options were to swim or simply to relax with a coffee or a drink by the pool.All-in-all, both our families had a fantastic time. The activities were exciting and thrilling, the location and hotel perfect for the type of holiday and the local rep both friendly and professional. I should also add that Activities Abroad were very helpful and booking with them was very straight forward. I feel sure that we will travel with them again - and may even go back to Sort for a third visit!

Just wanted to send a note to say what a FANTASTIC holiday we had in Sort. The activities went far beyond our expectations in how advanced they were and the guides were absolutely expert. We'd like to say a special thanks to Isi who really made everything work and kept everyone within their comfort zone - which can't have been easy considering the height of the river this year!If at all possible,…

We had a wonderful journey
A review of Kittila Lapland Winter Adventure by Di YuWe had a wonderful journey. Special thanks to Annabel, who introduced the package and helped greatly throughout the booking. Without her assistance, and professional service, this couldn't have happened. Special thanks also goes to Scotty, our local guide, who is skillful, caring. Most enjoyable activity: Diversity of the activities arranged for each day and tailored by the local guide for the…

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved. The staff at the hotel and on the activities were so happy, friendly and helpful. It made it so easy to relax and enjoy ourselves. Thank you, everyone. This was my second visit to Harriniva. Having been last year with my husband, I had to bring my two children (33 and 29 years old!) Every minute of the holiday, from the second we descended…
Read more from the coach to look up and see the Aurora welcome us to the very end, it was beautiful. We chose the activities we wanted, and each one had a delight of its own. From gentle ice fishing and the ICEHOTEL visit, to the snow mobiles and of course the beautiful huskies, the days were full but always relaxed, never rushed. The food is perfect - wholesome and nourishing. The whole atmosphere is a feel of well-being. Being able to walk a few feet to the expanse of the river to see the aurora is the crowning glory of the experience. We spent many hours taking hundreds of photos, never cold, and always able to nip back in if we did want to warm up.There is space - room to breathe. Even though staying in a hotel, the number of guests is small enough to make it feel homely and once outside there is plenty of room for everyone to feel ‘alone in the wilds’. An experience of a life time. Everyone should get the opportunity to enjoy it (but only a few at a time!)

Most enjoyable activity was the 5 hour husky safari. The weather that day was lovely so the scenery was spectacular!!!!! (We) just loved everything about it. There was nothing that we didn't enjoy, everything was amazing. I don't believe anything could be done to improve the holiday. It was a holiday of a lifetime but one thing I would say is have you ever thought of running a mini bus to and from…

We are all agreed we had a wonderful time!
A review of Luosto - Snow and Ski Active Pick and Mix by Gerald MilesThis type of holiday, especially when a family is involved, is not cheap and therefore we are delighted that the overall experience was such a good one. We went to Northern Finland 5 years ago and did many of the same things but this trip was even better. Thank You.Most enjoyable : Seeing The Northern Lights ....two spectacular shows plus two other sightings in one week ! A lifetime ambition…

Your reps in Luosto are doing you proud...
A review of Luosto - Snow and Ski Active Pick and Mix by Joanne PinfieldYour reps in Luosto (Peter and Lorna Drew) are doing you proud. Extremely pleasant, cheerful and helpful. Food at the Hotel Tunturi was sometimes not the best (a lot of stews in strange sauces and disappointing desserts), but the buffet salads were lovely and we always had sufficient. The log cabin we had (Jutamaya 1) was delightful, but we were surprised at just how far away from everything we…
Read more were (a good 20/25 minute walk). Could have been clearer at time of booking, but we were very pleased to be there rather than the hotel, as the ability to chill and the open fires were great. We'd paid for inclusive hotel breakfast, but couldn't face the walk and ended up self-catering- we wouldn't have taken the hotel breakfast option if we'd realised how far away we were.We enjoyed all the activities- it's all so different from things you can normally do. If pushed, we'd go for the husky safari, as our eldest daughter (17) was able to drive the sleigh and absolutely loved it. Peaceful (once on the move!), stunning scenery, more snow than I've ever seen and the experience was great. The ice fishing was also good fun. A lovely sleigh ride to reach the river and then the excellent guide helped us all to catch a number of fish (I'd never caught a fish in my life before- not through lack of trying!). Also, the ski resort, although small, was excellent. We are all experienced, competent, skiers and really enjoyed our 2 days of skiing. The runs were well pisted, the snow was amazing and there were never any queues, so although the runs were limited, we had a great time. We all tried snowboarding and the ski school was excellent-empty slopes, patient, English speaking instructors. Our youngest is now hooked! There wasn't an activity we didn't enjoy. If pushed, the actual amethyst digging part of the mine visit felt very ‘commercial’, but the snowmobile ride there and the talk at the mine was interesting (and we found some nice little pieces). The only other small problem we encountered was that the girls got extremely cold on the back of the snowmobiles during the safari. Overall, though, there was nothing we didn't thoroughly enjoy. It’s great and I'd recommend it to any family (in fact, I already have done!). My only comment would be to make sure customers are aware how far out the log cabins are, as the distance could be a problem for some clients.

All four of us had another wonderful trip to Harriniva
A review of Harriniva - Activity Pick and Mix by Penny WhistonAll four of us had another wonderful trip to Harriniva, so much so that on the way home we began to plan for next year.We enjoyed the activities immensely, although we considered the night snowshoeing party to be rather too large for one guide to handle (with) over a dozen of us of mixed ages and abilities. Our cross country skiing guides had taken parties snowshoeing in other locations and…

Husky sledding was exciting; the tour of the kennels, the interesting talk and meeting the puppies rounded it off nicely. All the staff at the hotel were charming, friendly and helpful. Emma, the Activities Abroad representative, was superb! Always enthusiastic, nothing was too much trouble for her and it was lovely to have someone who showed genuine interest in her clients. The food was excellent. We had enjoyed it so much last year that it had influenced our choice of destination for this holiday and we weren't disappointed. Beautifully presented and truly delicious. If we were to be picky, the coffee wasn't up to much.Of course, having been to this hotel last year, we knew what to expect. The rooms were comfortable and cosy. Next time, we would try to book in sufficient time to secure a room with a sauna. A towelling robe would have been nice for us 'girls' but we managed OK - it's not a complaint, purely an observation.
