To our mutual surprise we also found cross country skiing to be a great family activity. It was something we could all master and it was very liberating being able to head off down snowy tracks as a family when we had a spare few hours.
Another great memory was when my daughter learnt to downhill ski in Luosto.
This was undoubtedly due to the extreme patience and never ending encouragement from the local ski instructor. It was the best feeling ever seeing my 10 year old skiing down the slopes unaided. We have so many happy memories from Finnish Lapland and these are just a few.
