Kaş is a great base for families who want an energetic way to enjoy sun, sea, and sand. There is something for all the family on this holiday: mountain biking, hiking, our famous lazy boat day, sea kayaking, and tubing. There is also time to relax, enjoy the Mediterranean sunshine, and take in the vibrant local culture with its excellent food.
The old town of Kaş is an ideal destination for an activity holiday with its impressive coastline complemented by a wonderful warm climate, cosmopolitan culture, and friendly locals. During the activity schedule, we also explore the nearby mountain range as well as the Mediterranean coastline, allowing you to actively enjoy the area's highlights.
Kaş is one of the few towns along the coast which has not been dominated by mass tourism. As a result, it still retains its fascinating heritage, reflected in the produce sold in the shops, the cuisine served in the restaurants and the architectural history of the attractive old town.
Please be aware that flight availability can be limited during the summer and we therefore strongly recommend booking early.
You will be greeted at Dalaman Airport for the transfer to your accommodation. Transfers will be grouped within an hour of other arrivals/departures. Upon arrival in Kas, you will check into your rooms, following which our local guides will host a welcome meeting to introduce you to the area and discuss the upcoming activities that you will be enjoying throughout the week.
Included Meals: NoneWe start with the universally popular lazy boat day which has become a firm favourite with families over the years.
You will board the boat at Kas and spend the day exploring the beautiful coastline, small islands, bays and inlets. As you make your way steadily around this scenic region, there will be the opportunity for swimming, snorkelling, sunbathing and plenty of relaxation with a delicious lunch served on board. The seas surrounding Kas are known for their rich marine life as well as their underwater cultural heritage which includes several submerged shipwrecks. The boat day will last around six hours in total.
This evening after you have disembarked, why not take a stroll down to the seafront and sample some delicious local cuisine?
Included Meals: Breakfast, LunchTo get the best from today’s activity it does normally involve an early start from the hotel for the 45-minute drive to the Kekova national park area. Upon arrival at the base here, there will be a full safety briefing before setting out on the first section of sea kayaking. The day is split into three sections of kayaking which each takes around 45 minutes to an hour depending on the speed of the group and the weather conditions.
Today’s activity requires slightly more effort than yesterday but you are rewarded with beautiful views from your kayak as you make your way along the coast.
You will paddle over one of Turkey’s most famous sites, the sunken city near the island of Kekova which dates back to the second century when an earthquake partly submerged the city. The clear water allows you to see deep into the water to see the ancient buildings below, which adds further to this enjoyable activity.
For lunch, there’s a stop at a traditional local village which can only be reached by boat. Due to the early start, the group is normally back at the hotel around 3.30 which leaves plenty of time to enjoy the swimming pool and water slide for anyone with any extra energy!
Included Meals: Breakfast, LunchBy now you will have become very familiar with Kas’ coastline, so today you will see a very different side to this part of Turkey by heading inland for a walk amongst the towering mountains which surround the old town. As you follow the route with your guide you will enjoy some excellent views of the coast and surrounding countryside.
The group will stop for a picnic lunch along the route on a highland pasture, giving you the chance to rest and appreciate your surroundings. The hike normally lasts between 2.5 – 3 hours depending on the group and the majority of the trail is downhill in a shaded forested area. Following the hike, there will be some free time at a secluded beach area to enjoy a refreshing swim before heading back to the hotel.
Included Meals: Breakfast, LunchToday is free for you to try additional activities such as scuba diving or horse riding (you can arrange these and pay for them locally). Alternatively, you can just relax on the beach - the choice is yours!
Included Meals: BreakfastIt’s time for some real adventure today as you return to the mountains for some cycling. You will drive for around 30 minutes to get to the start point before being provided with mountain bikes and safety equipment before exploring the tracks and trails with your guide to lead the way.
The route will take you through cool forests and vast open meadows, allowing you to see more of the surrounding scenery of Kas and its rich natural beauty and history. Throughout the trail a support vehicle travels closely behind so is always an option for those that would like a rest along the way.
Included Meals: Breakfast, LunchOn your final full day in Turkey, you will first explore the dramatic scenery of the Saklikent Gorge, the second-longest gorge in Europe, where the river rushes between steep-sided cliffs. The transfer to the spectacular gorge takes just over an hour and then the walk to explore properly will take approximately two hours and on reaching the bottom of the gorge your next activity will begin – tubing!
You will be given a paddle, your tube and safety equipment before setting off, spinning and twisting your way downstream. The group will stop for a therapeutic mud bath/fight along the way. The tubing lasts for around 45 minutes depending on local conditions.
This evening is free to enjoy at your leisure.
Included Meals: BreakfastToday, it’s time to bid farewell to Turkey. You will be transferred back to Dalaman airport in time for your return flight. If you are tempted to extend your stay, please speak to our Family Travel Experts.
Included Meals: BreakfastHotel Phellos is a wonderful hotel located in the old town and centre of Kas. It is just a short walk from the seafront and the main streets of Kas where families can enjoy a range of shops, restaurants, marketplaces and historical features. In addition, Küçük Cakil, one of the region’s most sought-after beaches, is less than 100 metres away.
There are 84 standard rooms at the hotel and 5 triple rooms (consisting of 3 single beds or a double and a single). All rooms are en-suite, simply furnished, yet offer all the essentials. The facilities include air-conditioning, a hairdryer, phone, minibar, TV, small table with a chair and balcony (with sea or country views).

Minimum 4 people and maximum 28 (approximately)
We always try to provide an approximation of the group size you can expect to be with for the duration of each of our holidays. It may be that you are joined by others for parts of your holiday (such as transfers and particular activities) but the above number reflects those you can normally expect to be with from beginning to end. If group size is something which is particularly important to you, please speak to our Travel Experts and they can suggest the best holidays for you.
Tailor-made holiday group sizes will vary for all activities as will the group size for any additional activities you book.
Some of our holidays require a minimum number of participants to operate (as listed in the ‘Group Size’ section). If your holiday departure has not yet reached the minimum number, you will be told at the time of booking. In the unlikely event that your chosen date is not guaranteed by nine weeks before your scheduled departure date, we will contact you to discuss the available options as per our booking conditions.
The minimum age for this holiday can be found in the ‘Key Facts’ section of the holiday overview.
Younger family members may be able to participate but may not be able to take part in all activities. Please contact one of our Travel Experts if you have any questions.
The order of activities listed in this agenda is provided for guidance only, your final and detailed itinerary will be provided either with your final travel documents (which are uploaded into your online account around a week prior to departure) or upon arrival.
We want our holidays to be accessible as they can be and will do our best to accommodate any special requests and requirements where possible. We have a wide range of holidays and destinations and so our travel experts will help find the best holiday for you.
In order to give us the best possible chance to do this we ask that if you or any member of your party has any medical condition or disability which may affect your holiday or has any special requirements, that you tell us at the time of enquiry or booking. You must also promptly advise us if any medical condition or disability which may affect your holiday develops after your booking has been confirmed. You may need to provide a doctor’s note and proof of insurance in some cases as the health and safety of our clients is absolutely paramount.
In providing this information you are allowing us to work with our expert local partners to ensure that your whole party can enjoy the holiday. By letting us know in advance we can discreetly work with you to adapt any part of the holiday which may potentially be challenging. Being able to prepare for this in advance makes an incredible difference to what we can offer and minimises any impact on your party and the rest of the group.
Unfortunately, if you choose not to share this information with us in advance then it may limit some or all of the itinerary you have booked, and we cannot be held accountable for any additional costs or missed activities resulting from this.
It is vitally important that you advise us prior to departure of any medical or dietary condition relating to any member of your party so that we may notify our local staff before you arrive. We recommend only drinking bottled water from bottles with unbroken seals and be vigilant about the use of ice in drinks and ice cream.
Insurance is not included in your holiday, but it is a pre-requisite to travelling with us. You will need to ensure that you have cover for all the activities that you will be participating in during your holiday.
It is extremely important that you take out a suitable travel insurance policy at the time of booking. Plans do sometimes change, and you will need this policy should you need to cancel your holiday.
If you are struggling to find a suitable policy then details of our preferred provider, who will cover you for all the activities we offer, can be found on our website by clicking here. Please note that this policy is available to EU residents under the age of 75 only.
Our clients’ safety is at the centre of everything we do, and our operations team continually assesses and monitors the destinations we feature. We carry out thorough risk assessments and work closely with all of our suppliers to continually follow best practice. For up to date travel advice the UK government offers its Travel Aware website as well as the advice detailed below.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office Advice
We receive all updates from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) with regards to travel advice and we always ensure that we follow this advice in our operations. The FCO issues travel advisories for countries based on a very wide range of factors. They may provide notification about things as simple as a football match and crowds, or they may go so far as to advise against all travel to a region. We ask all our clients to refer to the relevant Travel Advice by Country for the destinations they are visiting in order to make an informed decision on the safety of the destination based on the details provided. It also provides vital information regarding entry requirements, embassy information, local laws and customs as well as specific safety and health. Guests should take responsibility for keeping themselves up to date with this advice. Please also ensure that, if you are transiting through another country, you have read the advice and meet the entry requirements for that destination too.
The FCO travel advice is applicable to British Passport Holders. Most governments will issue their own travel advice for a region and, if you are not a UK resident then you can find some helpful links below:
Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/
New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade http://www.safetravel.govt.nz/
Canadian Consular Affairs Bureau http://voyage.gc.ca/
The U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs http://travel.state.gov/content/travel/english.html
If the FCO deems that there is an unacceptable level of risk for UK citizens then, together with the government, they may issue an advisory against all travel to a region or country. If such an advisory is published, then we will act accordingly, and this may require the cancellation, curtailment or amendment of a holiday itinerary. These decisions are made on the basis of ensuring our clients’ safety and will affect all clients on the holiday, regardless of their nationality.
If one of our local experts suggests an amendment due to a situation which develops locally then we may also take the decision to amend an itinerary appropriately.
If we have to cancel your holiday prior to departure you will be offered the option of an alternative trip (where any price difference will either be refunded to or covered by you) or a full refund of the monies paid.
If we have to curtail a holiday, then you will be refunded for any costs for the elements we have been unable to deliver, where we have been able to secure a refund from our suppliers. If we must reroute a holiday, then any basis for refund is determined on a case by case basis and dependent on whether the central holiday experience was provided or not.
Additional activities can be booked locally in almost all our destinations. However, as per our booking conditions, we cannot be held responsible for any injury or loss incurred through participation in activities which are booked at your destination outside of our holiday itinerary (see our ‘Terms and Conditions’ for further details).
When arranging any such activity please always ensure that safety is your primary concern.
In some of our destinations, you can borrow or hire equipment for use in your free time. You do so entirely at your own risk. You must ensure that you are correctly prepared, have the necessary equipment and knowledge (maps, etc.) and ensure that where applicable, you follow marked routes. We recommend discussing your plans with the local teams who will be able to advise on the most suitable options for you.
Always let the reception/guide know where you are planning to go and take a torch and mobile phone (with the hotel/guide’s phone number stored). It is also a good idea to leave your contact number and the time you expect to return to the hotel should the hotel need to contact you.
On your documentation, we will confirm your flight schedule. Sometimes the flight number, routing and timings might change prior to your departure. If the change is classed as a significant change then we will contact you to discuss this. Please see our booking conditions for details.
Flight schedule changes can impact on your pre and post-holiday travel arrangements if these have been booked separately to your holiday. We strongly recommend that you do not book transport (such as trains or transfers), car parking or non-connecting flights to the departure point for your holiday until you have received your final confirmed travel times when your final travel documents are issued. We are not responsible for the effect of any schedule change on your pre or post travel arrangements. We strongly recommend that you do not purchase non-flexible or non-refundable tickets to avoid cancellation and penalty charges.
If you have chosen to book your own flights, then you will need to wait until we confirm to you that the holiday departure has met the minimum numbers required to run (if applicable to your chosen holiday). Once the holiday is guaranteed to run, you will be informed and you can then make your arrangements.
If transfers are included in your holiday, please ensure that any potential flights will be met by our standard transfers (speak to one of our Travel Experts for advice) otherwise private transfer supplements may be applicable. Once your flights are booked, please send us a copy of your detailed flight itinerary.
Please be aware that most tickets are non-refundable in the case of cancellation. For this reason, we strongly advise you check the rules of the ticket and check the limitations of your cancellation insurance before booking. We cannot be held liable, in the unlikely eventuality that we should be forced to cancel or amend your trip, for losses incurred relating to any flight booking you have made.
Our full booking terms and conditions can be found on our website: https://www.activitiesabroad.com/booking-conditions
Please note: our payment and cancellation terms will be unique to each booking – they will be confirmed with you at the time of quotation. The terms listed above are noted as a guide only
Please note that the following cancellation terms supersede in part those mentioned in Section 7 of our general booking terms and conditions.
- Up to balance due date (this is normally 16 weeks prior to departure however some holidays differ. If this applies to your holiday you will be advised at the time of booking) - Loss of deposit (including the full cost of flights or other services where paid at the time of booking)
- Between balance due date and 92 days prior to departure – 50%
- 91 to 24 days prior to departure – 75%

This has been probably our best family holiday EVER! Everything about it from booking, to the guides - Zeb and Paul - to the other families and everyone we met made us feel special. The programme that Paul has put together was perfect for us - he's thought about everything and knows his stuff - we learnt very quickly to take his advice! The lazy boat day was the perfect start and helped us ease in…

to the holiday, get to know Zeb and Paul without feeling too stressed or overwhelmed....and the food was on another level - WOW! Day 2 on the kayaks was again, perfect - Paul's expert local knowledge meant that we avoided the crowds, were immersed in the culture and history of the area and had loads of fun - once again, hats off to Pau for a superb spot for lunch. Day 3 was a hike with Zeb, which again was awe inspiring - A well chosen route, that was both challenging and enjoyable. Lunch was again a highlight, this time in a mountain village home, trying some local delicacies - pancakes and Iram. So generous and accommodating - felt really special. Zeb's local knowledge and enthusiasm led us to an off the programme stop at a small mountain village where we were introduced to smoked ice - cream. We were a little worried that the mountain biking straight after the trek would be a bit too much, but nothing could be further from the truth. This was again challenging, especially for our 10 year old, but also achievable. A good combination of rugged mountain terrain and smoother small roads leading to a picnic by a mountain spring - really felt quite special, especially as there was no one else around! The minibus follows you for the majority of the time, so if your confidence or skill leaves you, there is always the option to jump on to the next section. The thrilling descent is aptly named -it really does leave you with your heart in your mouth! The day ends with a swim in the sea at one of the few 'beaches' - great way to end the day. Next up was the free day, although Paul provided plenty of options to choose from - we chose a day visit to the 'Greek Island' which for us was the perfect 'chill day' - visiting more magical cultural sites, swimming in crystal clear water and visiting the blue cave - no spoilers on this one as it is a wonder best 'discovered'! The final day of activities took us to a gorge in the mountains and tubing - a thrilling ride in small dinghy's along the river. This was followed up by a mud bath and swim in a natural spring - we even had time left for the kids to try out the zip wire - just great fun. The evening and week was rounded off with another meal out with Paul and the group at an expertly selected restaurant - a great way to end a magical week, with strangers that we now consider friends. Sad to leave but grateful for an amazing experience that will be long remembered. If any of the other holidays offered are as well put together, you've got yourself lifetime customers! Product knowledge was excellent and it was reassuring that Graham had tried out the package and loved it - his description matched our experience. Administration was very efficient - communication was quick and clear - no question went unanswered and nothing seemed to be too much trouble Pre-holiday info was excellent, especially considering the short window (we booked very last minute!) Website not overly intuitive but once you get your head around it, makes perfect sense and all info is accessible I was a little apprehensive about the transfer, but in reality this was incredibly slick and easy. When we met our driver, he gave s a welcome pack which answered all of our questions - very easy Accommodation was good - although rarely in the hotel really. Room had aircon, bathrooms were clean and functional - good sized pool and good spread at breakfast Food was AMAZING - did not have a single bad meal Guides were phenomenal - expert local knowledge, accommodating, friendly and encouraging The activity package was perfect - we all loved every activity - every day was different - loved the fact that the challenges were not 'watered down' and shortened just because we had relatively young kids - they rose to the challenge and have benefitted massively from it All equipment was of a very high quality and has been clearly well looked after and risk assessed We can't rate this holiday highly enough - Best holiday EVER!

Our activity guide in Kas was the most informative, helpful and organised person I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. The activities were all as advertised and superb, with the added bonus of his local knowledge and contacts to make them extra special. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic time.
We had a lovely holiday, staying for a full second week. The reps Mike & Karen could not have been more helpful and willing to offer suggestions for other things you could do. The guides, Barbaros and Cem were lovely and great with the kids. Tubing was definitely the silliest and really great fun. The lazy boat days (we did an extra one) were the favourite for the family as a whole. Kas is a…

We enjoyed a thoroughly well organised and well run holiday. Absolutely everything was carefully considered and carefully thought through, it was obvious this was a well-oiled set up! The week ran like clockwork - there was no hanging around and we had fast-track access through the queues at Saklikent. All equipment was in good condition and there was just the right balance of organisation and…

free time. We are a family of disparate sporting abilities - ranging from highly proficient to novice. We booked activities to suit our individual preferences and managed to achieve the perfect balance for all of us. Harry and Hughie particularly enjoyed the biking, Alice loved the Lazy Boat Day and I was just happy that everyone was happy. Well done and thanks to everyone who had a hand in organising our holiday. We were lucky that the group we travelled with all had older teenage children - which gelled the teens and suited the parents.
