Group Travel
“It’s like herding cats”
We often hear the phrase ‘It’s like trying to herd cats’ from people who have tried to organise group trips on their own. It can be a thankless task with pressure and requests coming from all quarters.
We fully understand this and whatever the composition of your group, it is our aim to ease this burden as much as possible. Basically, we strive to make your group trip as simple and straightforward as possible.
We know what works
With over 16 years’ experience in the travel industry, we like to think we are pretty good at deciding which of our trips work best for family group travel! Our itineraries have been tried, tested and enjoyed by our own families as well as the hundreds of people we send away every year in both the summer and winter seasons.

In the past, we have worked with groups of eight to eighty people. From school groups to several families travelling together to four generations of the same family, our itineraries can be adapted to meet the needs of any group; duration, date, budget and itineraries can all be adapted to meet your particular requirements.
As well as Activities Abroad, we also have our Aurora Zone and Artisan Travel brands. Whilst these are designed primarily for adults only, the vast majority can be adapted for groups with children. Essentially, these additional brands give you an even wider range of destinations and experiences to choose from.

Flexible and fun
Our trips cover both winter and summer and are designed to fit around the school holidays. For larger groups, we can be even more flexible. If you are travelling with older children or want to get away in the spring or autumn breaks we can adapt our itineraries to suit your needs.
For active groups, there is so much fun to be had on our trips. In summer you can choose from our range of coastal and mountainous destinations across Europe. These destinations have all been selected because they offer an outstanding array of activities, adventure and experiences. From sea kayaking to white water rafting, from mountain biking to canyoning, from national parks to historic cities and idyllic beaches; we’ve got it covered.

Your group can explore the snowy landscapes in myriad ways – snowmobiles, husky or reindeer-pulled sleds, cross-country skis, snowshoes and even a hovercraft. You can stay in ice hotels, glass igloos, log cabins and, for the ultimate group experience, how about hunting for the Northern Lights?
Of course, if you are looking for something more relaxed, travelling as a larger group doesn’t mean that you have to stick to set itineraries. If you want time to simply enjoy the sunshine, or relax in your log cabin we aim to be as flexible as possible.
We have worked with many school groups in the past too so if you are looking to take your students on an outdoor adventure trip, in either the sun or snow we would be happy to help you create the best possible experience.
