Drop into the Plitvice Lakes National Park – recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site – for a spot of canoeing or stand-up paddling over in a marvellous natural setting. You may prefer Novigrad on the Adriatic Coast, with all kinds of water sports in its picturesque bay. Starigrad in the Paklenica Riviera is another alternative, with jeep safaris and canoe trips to acquaint you with its verdant surroundings.

If you’re after beach-based entertainment which is only a short flight away, our holiday to Portugal’s Alentejo Coast is exactly the one for you. No more tourist-filled trips to the Algarve: this is a crowd-free paradise with some of the best surfing spots in Europe. You’ll be based in a national park area with one of the continent’s cleanest rivers: head down the crystalline Mira and look out for rare wildlife! Alentejo’s valleys also have secret lagoons where you can go for a cooling swim.

Heading out into the Atlantic, Madeira and The Azores are islands filled with adventure. Trek into volcanic caves and tunnels and along luscious mountains and valleys. You’ll get to search for whales and snorkel with dolphins in an area teeming with marine life. Explore by jeep, boat, and kayak as you journey from one adventure to another on these small, but stunning islands.

Why not spoil yourselves with a trip to Slovenia’s first ‘European Destination of Excellence’: the sparkling Soča Valley and its stunning turquoise- river. Check out the area with rafting safaris and hikes or drop down canyon walls in an abseiling session.

Our holiday in Montenegro offers lots of excitement and outdoor fun. Smaller than Wales, the country is saturated with natural beauty which you’ll be able to experience when orienteering around crystalline lakes in Durmitor National Park or rafting through Tara Canyon. Spend time kayaking away in the Kotor fjord – it’s a tranquil, hidden delight!

For a truly unconventional treat, how about a family holiday to Gozo? This unfamiliar Maltese island has some of the continent’s best scuba diving spots where you can swim by mysterious wrecks and say hello to some spectacular fish. Rather than carrying the usual bulky kit, we’ll have you picking up the simple art of Mini B diving to ensure your time in the water is without any fuss. The majestic cliffs close by are perfect for climbing – we’ll have expert instructors to demonstrate the very best way! There’s also a special ‘Eco Day’ to acquaint you with the kind locals and their cultural practices.

Hopping across to Turkey, we avoid the predictable rush of Istanbul and take you to Kaş in the calm South. It’s a colourful, family-friendly town with a blend of cultures, right on the bright blue coast. Kayak over the ruins of a submerged city and chill out on a lazy boat ride; head to the mountains for hiking picnics and explore the scenic Saklıkent Gorge where you can go tubing down a rapid river. In between all that, you’ll definitely relish filling up on gorgeous seafood and fresh mezze – say goodbye to supermarket houmous and taste the real thing!

Closest of all is England’s beloved Lake District – cut out flight time and have fun on home soil! As well as leading you around its poetic landscape, we’ve planned activities which will allow you to experience this region in new ways. Head to a mountainside stream and try the local practice of ‘ghyll-scrambling’; venture over to Honister Slate Mine and conquer the heights of the ‘Via Ferrata Xtreme’ climbing route. And of course, you won’t be missing out the lakes themselves: there will be plenty of water sports on Derwentwater, the so-called ‘Queen of the English Lakes’.
