Deep within the Arctic Circle at the top of Finnish Lapland, overlooking the waters of the Etuväylä River as it courses along the border with Sweden, is Harriniva. You might prefer to learn the more physical art of cross-country skiing, which is tremendous fun!
Most popular of all has to be dogsledding: a traditional means of getting about which goes back generations. You can cover distances from nine to fifty kilometres in length – whichever you choose, you’ll certainly be in for a thrilling ride!
You’ll also have the opportunity to throw in a bit of native culture. How about ice-fishing like the locals on a frozen lake, or learning about the lifestyle of the indigenous Sami people? The decision is all yours!
