The most amazing holiday
A review of Menesjärvi Christmas Northern Lights Adventure. by Lynda ScrivenerWe have had the most amazing holiday and everything was virtually faultless. We had delays both ways on our flights, but that was the only snag. The owners, staff and guides at Hotel Korpikatano were wonderful, extremely welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. They provided a fantastic Christmas we will never forget. To make everything just perfect, we saw the northern lights on 3 out of our…
Read more 6 night stay, and the most spectacular display was on Christmas night. We couldn't have asked for anything more.We were very pleased to find Activities Abroad and this holiday in particular. It meant that we could do all of the activities that we wanted to do for one inclusive price. On other holidays we looked at, the activities weren't included and once we factored them in, everything seemed to work out a lot more expensive overall. It was very good value for money. The destination and hotel were perfect for our active family, and we'd love to return now in the summer for the midnight sun! One day. Fingers crossed.

It (was) just a magical experience that we will never forget
A review of A Magical Search for Father Christmas by Emma BradshawWe had a wonderful holiday in Kuusamo and it met up to all our expections. As you said small exclusive group, which is what we got, and non commercial. It was very well organised and well planned. Tanya Elf and Hristo were fantastic with adults and children. It (was) just a magical experience that we will never forget. Thank you

Just the right balance
A review of Luosto Finnish Log Cabin Taster Week by Sandra PetersLoved the log cabin and self-catering was the perfect option - don't try to put people off; the walk isn't that bad, the facilities are full, ie a complete oven not just microwave or hob (as in many ski s/c experiences in France), the shop is sufficient if you bring rice/pasta with you etc. We paid for one hotel breakfast but it wasn't worth the money - and no discount. Our rep couple was superb -…
Read more they both worked very hard and took a real interest in each person/couple/family; they went out of their way to help in all circumstances, and we would like to thank them for their help finding Santa! Equally they were not intrusive and we could just get on with it if we chose - just the right balance. Activity guides - awesome - loved them all! Very passionate about what they do and SO considerate and genuine. Brilliant with children too and very patient.

So memories to treasure for the rest of our life
A review of Luosto - Snow and Ski Active Pick and Mix by Maria WoolleyThe activities were great fun. We opted for snow mobile - was good fun to try, daughter was bit cold on back of it. The journey consisted of a ride for around 1 hour to Tepe for drinks/snacks and then ride back for around 1 hour again. The journey out was bit disappointing ... better on way back as you seemed to go more cross-country rather than straight line (which was more fun on the…
Read more snowmobile). The chap who took us out was great and very knowledgeable.Second trip was the ' night snow shoe in search of northern lights'. We were a bit worried about whether our daughter (12) would cope with this, but she was fine and enjoyed it. Our guide was 'Pascal' and he was fantastic .. really made the trip. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area, country and northern lights. Unfortunately it was too cloudy to see any lights but was still great fun.Third trip was 'night husky safari'. No problems with my daughter enjoying this one! Great fun - even if you’re just sitting in the sledge. As it had been snowing quite a bit that day the huskies needed a little help up the hills, so be warned – it’s not an easy ride! Afterwards we got to see the dogs and puppies (gorgeous) and warm up with hot drink and snack. Was a really great activity and well recommended. We also went skiing in the resort. I went skiing a long time ago and my daughter had never been, so we opted to have a skiing lesson. Was well worth it - 90 mins of tuition and we were well away. Although we didn't stay after this as it was very cold and tiring! Went back 2 days later and weather was warmer, so we managed nearly 3 hours. If you're a beginner skier the slopes are ideal, very quiet and plenty of areas to practise. My husband is more confident but like me hadn't been for a while, so he even felt some of the more difficult slopes were still challenging. The reps at the resort were second to none. Absolutely great! Very friendly and helpful.Overall we have had a fantastic holiday and so memories to treasure for the rest of our life. Many thanks.

What a wonderful holiday, full of exciting activities in a most beautiful area - a perfect destination for the active family. Both my teenage daughter and I had a great time! The variety and quality of the activities were superb - all very professionally managed with fun, challenge and safety very much the themes; the Activity Guides were quite excellent. I also took the additional option of…
Read more mountain biking (highly recommended), which gave even more chance to enjoy the wonderful scenery. Every aspect of the holiday met or exceeded our expectations from initial contact with the friendly and helpful Activities Abroad staff, the booking system and support, to our wonderful Rep/Local Guide Frank, who truly made the holiday extra special with his enthralling local knowledge, charm and friendliness, and his desire to ensure that every single person had a great time. I've been recommending the holiday to friends ever since we've come back! Thank you Activities Abroad!

Our local guide (Frank) was excellent in his local knowledge, language, helping with the young adults
A review of Spain - Pyrenean Family Adventure by Ian GerryOur local Guide (Frank) was excellent in his local knowledge, language, helping with the young adults. To every question he had an answer. In short he is known in my family as 'Super-Frank’! - An observation (rather than a complaint). The whole experience with your 'customer facing' staff was excellent. a) I liked that when I spoke to Barry Nolan, he was knowledgeable/friendly/efficient. He…
Read more made the difference between you making the sale and possibly not. b) The local guide was excellent (as mentioned above). That was the consensus of the adults and young adults alike.

Our guide Frank really made the holiday; his local knowledge was excellent, and he was a wonderful companion to us during the whole week. There was only us and another family, so a small group, and we all got to know each other well. We will definitely recommend Activities Abroad, and especially the Catalan Pyrenees. Thanks to all the team.

The white-water rafting was exciting and the view of the Tara River stunning.
A review of Montenegro - Coast and National Park Adventure by Chris JewellThe white water rafting was exciting and the views of the Tara River stunning. We enjoyed all activities. Our local guide, Reno, and his family, could not have done more for us. Reno was an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and fun guide throughout. We would certainly (and indeed often do!) recommend Activities Abroad and Montenegro in particular. Many thanks.
