Read more nothing frightening or dangerous. The frightening and, to me dangerous, day was the trip down Mreznica river. The children age 14 and 16 just loved this day. Leaping off 9m drops into the water and bombing over 3m waterfalls in the kayaks was their idea of heaven. There was one 8yr old boy who just couldn't keep the massive grin off his face especially when he managed the 9m jump.The water rafting down River Una was utterly beautiful especially at the beginning. Unfortunately there was a storm in the offing so we didn't manage the swimming or jumping from a bridge but it was still a marvellous day.The cycling day was in torrential rain which made it very memorable. Barac caves were good but what we really enjoyed was home-made lunch provided by a family under an awning to keep the rain off. The lemonade was gorgeous and we drank gallons, lovely.I must now add a word for the guides. Our main guide, Slaven, who we had throughout, was marvellous. He was easy company, got us everywhere at the best possible times and very safety conscious. I trusted him when he was about to tip me over what felt like a 30m waterfall (was only 3m) which is quite amazing! The other guides we had, both in Bosnia (River Una) and Croatia were friendly, approachable and fun. I couldn't fault anyone.One word of warning to vegetarians. This is a meat loving nation so though vegetarians are catered fo, the imagination is lacking!I would recommend this holiday to anyone.

Excellent holiday in Greek Peloponnese. Accommodation in Tripoli & Nafplio was very comfortable and welcoming. Activities were well organised, with experienced Instructors. Read more enthusiastic, nothing was too much trouble.This was the first time we had done an organised activity break and although we had planned activities every day, we felt we had plenty of time for reading and relaxation.All our party enjoyed the week. The flexibility offered by Activities Abroad allowed us to add several extra days to the trip to arrange our own agenda and visit Poros and Athens.A great holiday. We felt we had seen much more of Greece, the people and culture than confining ourselves to more traditional tourist areas.

Read more food was a lovely balance of scandinavian and standard european (with chips as a special treat for the youngsters) and was really plentiful so we were always very well-fed.  The guides were truly wonderful: patient, good-humoured and very informative so now we all know how to make a fire in the snow, how to use a husky sled and lots more besides.  Ben, the Activities Abroad rep could not have been more helpful, not that there was much for him to sort out.  He even booked the aurora!!  We want to go again!

I cannot fault the experience in Luosto. We took the family of six adults and three children 8 to 12 years old and it was a very special holiday. Even the aurora put on a spectacular show for us despite the fact that this winter has been unusually warm and damp (hence cloudy). We enjoyed the husky and snowmobile safaris. What a wonderful, magical place and the people we're so friendly and interesting. The equipment provided was free to use all week and the warm weather clothing was so good we needn't have taken our own boots or mittens. Read more aurora tops the list, closely followed by the husky rides and sauna. Everything else was amazing too, total grin factor from start to finish.Thank you for providing us with a perfect family holiday, it can be tricky to accommodate a large family of 7 with a wide age range, but we can honestly say we all had the best time and didn't want to leave. Although we can say we've ticked that one off our bucket list, we just want to do it again!!

Read more definitely recommend Activities Abroad and the overall holiday to friends.I have never visitied anywhere in the world quite so tranquil as the very northern part of Finland.If you are thinking of going, please do. Just make sure you take a few things for the kids to do and I guarantee they won't get bored, just very tired.

Read more The accommodation was very comfortable, food much tastier than it at first appeared, and the activities were well organised and hugely enjoyed by all of us. Something I appreciated was the absence of souvenir shops at all the attractions, and the authentic feel that the local guides and activity providers maintain. We didn't get to see the Aurora, but I wouldn't be surprised if we came back for another try!

Great holiday, location and activities. Would highly recommend it.

Well organised and spread through the week. All the staff were very good and helped to ensure it was an enjoyable holiday.The day in the wilderness was excellent - the kids loved building fires! All activities were very enjoyable. From snowmobiles to huskies - it was all active and well thought through.
