Take a look at the Q&A below!
Which holiday would be best for children of 8 and 11?
Both of our holidays to the Azores and Madeira are suitable for children aged 8 years or over and we have carefully crafted the itineraries to feature activities to suit the whole family! We recommend taking a look at our holidays in more detail to see which activities most appeal to your family but for children between 8 and 11, either destination would be an unforgettable choice!
We like to escape the crowds if possible and do some longer, countryside/hill walks. Which island would you recommend?
The Azores have a real undiscovered feel, making it a great destination for families who like holidays a little 'off-the-beaten-track' - there are also brilliant walking spots that take you through botanical gardens and even lava tunnels! That being said, Madeira is famed for its Levadas - walking routes that offer stunning winding paths around the island. What's more, our holidays are designed to take you away from the big crowds to give you a more authentic look into these wonderful destinations!
Hi, we are a fairly active family, but we are new to the world of activity holidays. How fit do you need to be to take part and do you need any previous experience? Thanks!
All of the activities we offer in the Azores and Madeira have been designed for beginners who have no prior experience and for a range of fitness levels, with all activities suitable for children 8 years and over. Our guides provide expert advice, tuition and instructions prior to any activity going ahead so you know that you will be in safe hands. Ultimately, all our activities are designed to be enjoyed and not endured, but some do require a more basic level of fitness than others. If you have any questions about a specific activity, then please contact one of our Family Travel Experts on 01670 789 991 who will be able to provide first-hand advice.
Are there many activities to take part in on the islands?

We're a family of sun-seekers, are Madeira and the Azores year-round destinations?
Our holidays to both Madeira and the Azores have departures from April through to October, making them excellent destinations for any time of the year. Thanks to its location in a temperate area of the Northern Hemisphere, the Azores are characterised by their mild climate throughout the year and average air temperatures range between 13°C and 22°C throughout the whole year. Madeira also enjoys a mild climate with average air temperature ranging between 15°C and 22°C during the whole year. If you would like to find out more about either destination, please call a Family Travel Expert on 0160 789 991 and they will be happy to help!
Which destination is better for younger children?
Our holidays to both the Azores and Madeira are suitable for anybody aged 8 years or over - however, younger children are most definitely welcome, they just may not be able to participate in all the activities included in the itinerary. If you're unsure about a particular activity, please call our Family Travel Experts on 01670 789 991 so we can find out a little more about the ages of your children and which activities are best suited.
Can non-swimmers still go along in the boat as part of the swimming with dolphins activity?
Of course! You can still watch the dolphins from the boat and not get into the water - in fact, we've seen many instances of the marine life coming right up to the boat so you still get an excellent view!
